SQL/Oracle & VB programmer Looking for a total all rounder in this permanent role to work along side the IT manager. We require a Strong SQL developer who also has excellent VBA skills and a familiarity with web application infrastructure, ASP programming and analytical skills to support our development, test and production servers, You will be responsible for database design, SQL query language design and Visual Basic code development in our in house development environment. You must have application development, & Web site development knowledge, (particularly asp pages with SQL server back end) experience of VB6 Visual [url removed, login to view] & experience of migration from ASP to ASP.Net. Must be able to demonstrate ability and experience of documenting processes and Systems The successful candidate will also be writing management reports using Crystal Reports 8.5, using stored procedures within the SQL Server 2000 database and our Oracle databases. You will have minimum of 5 years development experience with the ability to perform functional analysis, design, coding and testing of business applications, so excellent SQL Server and VBA/ASP development skills are absolutely essential. The current projects are to optimise our current databases, then to design and rebuild new systems in VB, SQL and Oracle 8i/9 ensuring compatibility of systems. The projects are central to the way our company does business and must be undertaken with resilience and redundancy as the primary focus of any design. The systems are running successfully and the role will be to ensure that this continues but more efficiently and with higher throughput. You will provide hands-on software support to all levels of the company ensuring that the business meets its requirements.
