Boy scout web site My kids are in the boy scouts, this is more their idea as mine. Part of the idea came from blinkz.com. We would like to launch a website for scouts where they would be able to create their own personal interactive website to share based on permissions (similar to blinkz) with family and friends. The following is the list of required features: post photos and keep a gallery blog calendar with tasks and todo list email with address book, folders, sent items etc, email address would be provided ie: [url removed, login to view] sms messaging to send calendar and other items or messages to cell phones( can email do this or do we need something like Kannel? ) chat with file transfer guestbook favorite links folder online word processor with pdf converter and folders to save and upload documents ie homework assignments a virtual sash( as the scout earns new badges they sew them on a sash, we'd like a web based one where they can drag and drop badge images onto a green sash area ) Finally, each scout will have a webstore selling Javaco coffees to raise money for that individual scout, we'd like to use something like OS Commerce. The store items would be the same for each scout, the orders would be processed and shipped by Javaco and a percentage would be paid to the scout. Each scout would need to be able to login and view their orders as well as send out personalized or generic thank-you emails to their customers. The overall design should be extremely clean yet attractive to children aged 8-16. The sash portion should be able to be hidden or turned off, the webstore must be visible on all pages, there are not many coffee varieties so the footprint can be relatively small. 9 an example is [url removed, login to view] )Our thought is having the store and sash on the right hand side with the store at the top. If this works well we would want to have the same developers work with us for other sports and recreation groups.
