Debug "Premature end of script headers" error 500

This error is really bothering me and I can't solve it. It doesn't happen every time the script is run, it happens maybe 50% of the time. The only error I can find is in the apache error logs: "Premature end of script headers" . I'm afraid I've reached a dead end with my troubleshooting skills.
