I understand the bidder wants to market his new book via a website. I would need the author to provide me a synopses of the book, a picture of the front cover and table of contents. I would also need the author’s biography. It would also be helpful to understand the author’s target audience, how much the book sells for, and if he is selling online via paypay. Is this book located at any retail store or anticipated to be sold at a retail store. I always need to understand the product and the stakeholders marketing needs, prior to developing the technical aspects of the website which is easy. After I understand the above, I would first develop a three-page website with the home page the front page of the book and a summary. I would have another page titled “author the author” and the final page would be selling the book directly via website (paypal is safest method) including a comment area for questions etc. that gets sent directly to the author by a prospective buyer. All websites I developed are optimized for google and yahoo. All metatags, name tags and content key words are designed to increase the websites rank and increase traffic to the website.
