We have simple application written in Python that needs to be converted to C#.
The application embeds chromium (cefpython) and does not have much more user functionality than redirecting to user to some place provided either by command line or by a windows registry entry (i.e., no fancy UI components, not even a toolbar, we only use the system menu).
However, to application has a couple of command line switches to start the software in full screen and on a predefined monitor (in cause there is more than one). Also, the software has a function to clear the cache (deleting a directory and restarting the software) and to auto-update should there be a newer version on the server.
The conversion to C# is required because the cefpython project is not actively maintained anymore and the chromium component used is outdated (newest version of cef3 required).
The awarded freelancer will get the full source code of the python version (approx. 600 lines of code).
When bidding, please make a suggestion what binding to use (e,g,, cefsharp, chromiumfx...) and also state the version of the .NET framework that must be installed on the computers (ideally, your software would also work on Windows 95 PCs).
hello,
Freelancer requested me to bid. Thanks to your concise description I believe I have a fairly good understanding of the requirements, however seeing the Python sources would be beneficial.
Other than that I should be able to deliver this targeting .net framework 3.5 if you are comfortable with that.
regards
Janos

Hi!
I worked on some projects that use Chromium Embed before (check my reviews and feedback).
Since you require it work on WindowsXP and up, i will use .Net Framework 4.0.

Hello,
I understood the initial scope of this project.
Although i want to discuss further this job in order to
prepare the final concept for this project.
After Complete discussion over the call or in chat, i
will prepare following things for you
- Technical Project Proposal
- Flow chart for this Project
- Execution plan (Step by step procedure with explanation how and at what that we are going to execute a particular task)
You need a simple conversion from Python to C#/.NET - that's easy task for me. I know both programming languages very good. I can do this in WinForms or WPF - your choice. I'd use CefSharp for Chromium Wrapper, because it's actively maintained and has large community support. I'll rewrite all the code, make it object-oriented (if it isn't) using MVVM pattern (if possible).
Can I do your project using geckofx? it's the Mozilla Firefox core and is up to date... I have experience developing automations using geckofx with c# and would be a pleasure to work with you...
Send me a message so we can negotiate...
Thanks!
We are currently working on C# windows application in the development of software for statistical analysis of biomedical signals. We have previously worked with python and we are sure we can perform the porting in C#.
