The histogram implementation (for image processing) has the following requirements: - cuda toolkit 5.5 compatible - GTX480 GPU compatible - kernel code implementation - caller function implementation - must use shared memory in kernel - must support 1 (greyscale) and 3 (rgb) image input - must use provided existing skeleton code for reading the input and output validation tests (code can be supplied on request to bidders) - developer must be able to test and develop locally (i.e. access to CUDA capable device on which to compile and run code) - documentation in code (including design decisions: i.e. why this is used) Upon successful completion, opportunity for a few more similar projects. This project is also open for support/advisory roles. P.S. I am also a developer, but not specialized in CUDA programming.

Hi, I can implement histogram of images in CUDA, of course the histogram output of RGB images have to be done for each color since 256^3 16777216 will be so high to print the histogram unless the specs tells to do contrary. And yes we will use shared memory in fact we don't have choice, to take advantage of GPU parallelism. Moreover I have completed coursera course related to heterogenous computing offered by University of Illinois.
