Also we do not post the portfolio and work examples publically to avoid other people copying it and claiming as their own. The drawbacks of a hand coded site is higher maintenance cost and if your developer bails out for any reason and you bring in a new freelancer, he/she may oppose the existing code and that can be a problem because the coding styles vary between different freelancers, why not pick a responsive theme and build the site using Wordpress which gives you the possibility of using plugins? - CL
