Hello. Could you please explain if you want the chat to be one-to-one or one-to-many or many-to-many? Do you mean Broadcasting messages between many clients? Do you need sessions between clients? For example every one has the possibility to have a private session with someone else. If this is the case, then RMI is the suitable technology. Otherwise (broadcasting case), normal Java programs can do the job via sockets. With best regards
