Configure Backup Web and E-mail Server

Hello, This can be achieved by building a HA (High Availability) cluster over both your machines. The VPS will serve as secondary node of the cluster and will be running the webserver and mailserver. It will also periodically replicate the primary node content (web) and data (mail) and will be running a so called keep-alive script, which will be periodically checking the primary node functionality. Once the primary node fails, the secondary node (VPS) will discover it's failed status and will change the DNS records (A record for web and MX record for mail) to match the VPS IP. At this time, it will also trigger a alarm to let you know that cluster failover has happened.
