Hi, I would use squid on linux to do this in order to save money, plus it is a very capable combination. You did say this would be on servers you own so I'd need to know if they are virtual or physical, and in either scenario we'd need to hash out access (ie. iLO or DRAC to install OS and continue from there, or SSH if you already have Linux installed... Etc). I'd need to know more details about what app is it that will use it, is this web traffic or are you envisioning using the proxy in another way, and lastly are you see seeking 1 oroxy, several or a cluster.
