Access - Database design

Hi, Access if very powerful with regards to aggregating and joining data from several sources. I can design you a fully automated system that can source from other databases (e.g. SQL Server, MySQL, any other ODBC source), spreadsheets, text files, web XML downloads etc... If you need any advanced data conversion I can write functions in VBA to do this. Within the processing function (e.g. querying or reporting) I can also add thorough data validation and error checking - e.g. to inform the user that a database on the network is currently unavailable, or that another source is not in the expected format etc... That way your data is guaranteed to be 100% consistent. For your output I can provide queries to join, aggregate, sort, filter, and calcuate your data in the most efficient manner possible - you will experience optimum processing times. I can also design you aesthetic reports grouped by your most suitable categories, and that are accessed by an intuitive user interface. Greetings! Usually I use a quit primitive but transparent, useful and reliable way to access external read only datas from MS Access application. I just appoint some folder, network or local, as well as clear way to get new data to put into. It may be .xls, .csv, .mdb, whatever else given by scheduled network copying, automated performance of emails received etc. So, this forder always consists of fresh data. Then your core .mdb file is linked to the mentioned data files, respecting internal structure of each of them, so they are available in MS Access. That's it, one can perform the data in needed way.
