Hi there, I have experience with many image processing techniques as well as ANNs (though i might need a refresher course in this if you need advice on the type of ANN). My suggestion is not to use existing OCR libraries as the results from the 'matching' may not be fit for input to an ANN. We can build the matching algoritm ourselves using eigen values and eigen vectors, which will output a nice 'certaintly' which we can feedback into the ANN for improvement on image processing techniques. Happy to chat more about your requirements as we can definitely fine tune our technique to suit.
