Focus is the most precious resource on earth and needs to be protected. It’s key to living a better life as an individual and for a better society to create world peace within our lifetime. The application for OS X that you will build for me will help people to maintain focus and attention by eliminating distractions on OS X to empower them to unleash their true potential. This means the application you build helps people to become ultra productive and finish their work two times faster so they have more time for their family and friends, their hobbies, and their social activities, or get twice as much work done to work on something that truly matters. Okay that’s the big picture idea for the app I have in mind. :) Together we will develop the best distraction blocker for OS X. Ideally you would be familiar with at least one of them. The goal is to develop an easy to use, flexible and hard to get around distraction blocker for Mac that blocks websites and applications to help people to focus on their work even if they are addicted to Facebook, Reddit, their Email Client or other distraction websites and games they might have installed on their Mac.. The application you will develop should support multiple (if possible independent) blocking and whitelist profiles which can be scheduled on a regular (weekly) basis. The schedule should be visible on some kind of weekly dashboard for a better overview. The core feature will be the ability to configure the app according to the willpower of the user: This will include different Unlock Options with: Click of an “Unfocus Button” Password Challenge (User needs to type a longer password correctly) A custom password set by the user “Fort Knox Option” - User is unable to unlock the software for a certain time or until a specific date even if he restarts the computer or he tries to shut down the app Optional Temporary Unlocks while running a profile(with the given Unlock options) Furthermore the app should have the ability to add distracting websites to the current schedule.
