In MS Access XP we have two different Macros.
The first macro uses the TRANSFER TEXT command and IMPORTS a text file as Import Delimited with an IMPORT SPEC. In the Macro, Access requires the path to the text file be hard coded, ie:
c:\documents and settings\username\desktop\[login to view URL]
We need the ability for the user to use the Tradtioanl Windows BROWSW function to bring up the Windows Explorer and let the user select the file to be imported.
The second macro also uses the OUTPUT TO function to EXPORT the results of a query to an EXCEL spreadsheet file.
Again it requires the file name and path be hardocded.
I need to be able to browse for the location and name of the file during the execution of the Macro.
What I need back is a generic Access Database with 2 Macros that will specifically allow the user to browse with the windows interface and select a file to do the import from (MAcro 1) and a Macro that will allow the user to browse with the windows interface and select a file to export a query to an excel file.
I understand this will require VB code, and I would like the code to be well documented.
