Hello,
I have a Java download program that collects stock data from website. I like program, so I would like to keep it and make small changes (not build new one). I have attached application-zip for viewing.
Problem: The website I get data from made small changes to website. Now data is not collected for 3 pieces of data.
Program: Unzip and run "[login to view URL]"
Source Example for MSFT stock:
Right side of page under "Share Statistics" Section Title:
1) % Held by Insiders
11.65
(% Held by Insiders: 11.65%)
2) % held by Institutions
55.60
(% Held by Institutions: 55.60% )
3) Date
12-Dec-05
(Shares Short (as of 12-Dec-05)3: 114.96M)
Solutions:
1) Reverse engineer because I do not have source code.
What are differences i can expect if you reverse engineer, ie speed, "error friendly" avoids website blocking, etc?
2) Build new program that is same (i like fast speed, and it does not get "blocked out" by website).
Regards,
Dylan
