I want to learn how to make an applet that will be able to display Japanese kanji characters, and will also demonstrate to me how to use buttons, textboxes, and drawing of images in an applet. I want to get an applet that will display at least one kanji, be able to enter kanji into a textbox and have it somehow displayed on a button press, and display some image bitmap. I will work in Windows XP environment, so I will need the source code and the compilation instructions to make it run on Windows. I will test by embedding the applet in an html document and then looking at it with a browser.
