i need to make something extremely similar to this: guestlist manager for event with seating chart [login to view URL] it is also seen in [login to view URL] [login to view URL], and many others. they all seem to work identically, some are flash, some run on html, and the first example is simply javascript. i need to create something just like this but dont know where to start. i was trying to see if the was an open source code for something similar that i can work off of and modify, or if it already exists and i just dont know exactly what to search for. please help! no idea how to even start

I have developed highly visual interactive javascript based web tools before, including this www.crownit.co.ke. I recommend javascript instead of flash because of it is supported by most devices without additional downloads. It also loads faster and reduces server load as functionality is on the client side.
