CSS Responsive Slider and element to work together - 24 hour timeline. - repost

I swear, this should be easy! And, now, I need it done QUICKLY. I have a slider and a plug-in widget on the same horizontal "line" at the top of my website, just under the nav bar. They will not play nice and stay responsive. You must be versed in making things responsive. The two elements must fill the available screen real estate - and adjust to the screen real estate available. I WILL NEED YOU TO BE HONEST IF YOU CAN NOT DO THE WORK WITH THE SKILLS YOU HAVE OR CAN NOT DO IT IN THE TIME FRAME. To both be usable (the widget has an add to cart button). 2) The slider should be about 60% of the real estate, the widget 40%. Though another size breakdown will be fine if necessary for the goal. The bottom of each element should match up. That is they should stay relatively equal size, top to bottom. 2.5) I have the choice of two sliders. I don't care which is used.
