IntegraData LLC needs an addition to a software product built using VB.Net 05/08. The software is used to combine inventory from multiple sources to create one large database for clients to use. The software is setup to look at .csv files and imports them into a locally hosted SQL database. Currently the system is setup to delete an inventory record from the SQL database when it is no longer listed within the .csv files. This functionality needs to be reworked as inventory can sometimes be sold and returned or accidentally deleted from the .csv files. Instead of deleting the record from SQL the following needs to happen: 1 ??" The SQL table will need a new column added that will read “DMSRemovalDate?? 2 ??" When inventory is no longer listed within the .csv files, the current date should be placed into this new column for that inventory record. 3 ??" If the inventory shows up again in the .csv files, the date should be removed from the column and the column should go back to NULL. 4 ??" If the inventory record does not appear two weeks following the date in the new SQL column, then the inventory record needs to be removed. 5 ??" There are several records associated with the inventory outside of the SQL database. These will be located within two different folders and each file will begin with the inventory identification number. After the two weeks are over, these files will also need to be deleted. The files will be a mix of .xml and jpeg formats. Also I am in need of an addition to the same application that will compare the number of records in the .csv files against the number of rows in the SQL table. If the number of inventory in the .csv files is 20% less than what is in SQL, then the importing of the information will need to abort and try to run again normally at its next scheduled attempt. Please let me know if there are any questions, I'll be more than happy to answer them.
