Configure PHP 4.4.9 install on dreamhost server

Hello, I require register_globals ON for the older code on my website to perform properly. This has resulted in having to install an unsupported version 4.4.9 PHP onto server currently running PHP 5.2.9, as Dreamhost will not allow server to run older version of PHP but has allowed me to install custom PHP 4.4.9 from simple script via shell command and all seems fine. I now need to configure the server to run using PHP 4.4.9 as when I check [login to view URL] it still says PHP 5.2.9 and issues still persists.....job requires swapping from PHP 5.2.9 to PHP 4.4.9 Basic config issues to be resolved to enable website to run on PHP 4.4.9 dreamhost server. This is urgent and needs completed before end of this week due to pending vacation Thanks Nick
