The script will read two files. Both are csv files. The first contains data with date/timestamps (see the attached file USD-RED.csv. The second is a time series of financial data (see [login to view URL]). The program will append the second file with some data from the first file, and output a new file with the extra data.
The program will read in the first filename (specified on the command line). It will then read in all the associated data, each of which have a date/time. Next, the program will read in the second filename (specified on the command line). This csv file also has one line, with dates and times specified on each line.
For the output, the output is identical to the second file (e.g. like the example [login to view URL]) but with an extra field at the end. This will always be equal to “0”. However, if there is a match for this date/time in the first file, then this field will be equal to “1”

I have made many file parsers in perl and would have the entire framework ready. I would just need to add few file name changes and should be able to handover you the code in no time.

Field sepaator for second file needs to be named as an argument to the script
( or) be presumed as in the first/ second file.
Can include option for field separator.
Looks fit for a one liner.
Hi,
I, based on my 5 years experience as a software engineer knowledgeable with unix and linux flatform, can handle this task pretty well and knowledgeable enough on Python. Let me know the best of your time so we can discuss and we can move forward to the next step.
Thanks,
Joseph C Ocero
Dear sir,
I have 3 years of experience working on some Perl projects, so can do your simple project quickly if you will hire me..
Thank you for reading this :)
I agree this is a dead simple Perl project. Hoping you select me for this task, would like to establish a relationship so I can provide Perl to you in the future. I have 30 years as a software developer and architect at IBM and Lockheed Martin. Looking for extra Perl work (which I consider relaxing and fun) to do after my daily activities. Thanks for your consideration.
