dealing with a panel database in stata 12

a have 2 databases (panel datasets) with countries from Europe, North America and SouthEastern Asia and I try to get some information about de patterns of trade (exports and imports) before and after a certain point in time (2008 - the US financial crisis). I must optimize the data in order to avoid multicollinearity, to be nonstationary and to get some relevant results from the regression I run. Also, i should the tests for normality, homoscedasticity, linearity and so on. At the end, i shall show that international trade (export and imports) is explained by the variation of GDP (i ve already showed that), FDI and domestic credit for the private sector. Using lags it would be recommended as well
