We are using a web based school management system built on ruby on rails. More information here: [login to view URL] It has an attendance system where each student is assigned a biometric/hardware ID. I have an RFID reader which reads RFID cards and can send read data to a tcp/ip port of any server. Fedena has an option to send SMS to students who are absent. We want a plugin developed which gets data from the port of the server and update the attendance in fedena and also send SMS notifications for students entering and exiting the school with time. Source code of fedena will be provided along with the attendance API and SDK of the RFID reader and SMS gateway API. The plugin should fully integrate with fedena and work seamlessly with its attendance system and send SMS for incoming and outgoing of students with timestamp and also for absent students. A ruby on rails expert is required, please do not bid if you are not not very familiar with it. It's a small project and will not take much time for a pro ruby developer. My plan: 1. do a C (or Rails or Node) app, that will run at server and listen to a port 2. the RFID reader will be set to send to this server/port 3. this app will trigger some SMS provider (by calling an url) to send a message 4. this app will also write some table (postgresql, mysql, or another database server) to log this entry, and set if the user are inside or outside 5. this app will also write in some fedena table (or call some function) to set if the student its in or out 6. a script will be created (to be placed in cron) to scan the table, check for absents and send sms I don't know the structure but I think that this project will be something like that.
