I need a simple software to collect the input from a bar code scanner, save the bar codes, and count the total number of bar codes. If the same bar codes has already been scanned in the same batch, alert with an alarm sound and pop-out window. If the bar codes are of different pattern (for example. length, numeric, or mix of numeric & letters), alert the user to confirm if he/she really want to add that bar code. Bar code scanners work just like a key board, you scan the bar code instead of key-in via keyboard
This software should have its own contained contained database file so that database file can be transported from one PC to another.
There should be buttons to "Start a new Batch Scan", "Save the Batch Scan" "Cancel the Batch Scan" and "Scan History Search"
The main page should be have a input field for bar code input (via scanner or keyboard), and total count, and list of bar codes already entered in the order of scanning (with option to re-sort them in alphabetical order).
When "Save the Batch Scan", prompt for a phrase to tag the batch, there should also be an option to create reusable tags.
When doing "Scan History Search", there should be options to search by date, tags, and bar codes, Click on the search results will show the result of that batch, ie., the total number of bar codes, and list of bar codes in the order of scanning (with option to re-sort them in alphabetical order). There should also be a facility to export the batches data to *.csv or excel files.
