Hi, I'm Matt and would like to help you (22 years of IT experience, 3+ of statistical analysis at PhD studies of Knowledge Management). What you do exactly need? My help would be scripting opening your files in R, the free statistical programming language (and best free graphic user interface program - RStudio). So you really don't need to save your data if all rows in your Excel files can be opened as data tables in R - sure you can export that data to other storage, like MySQL or SQLite database or other option. Exploring data in R is then partially visual, partial with simple commands. And it's almost guaranteed there is a additional module (or modules) available for free which would serve your statistical analysis and report as well. So my question is: how many Excel files you have, how many rows they have, how many variables (columns) per row? It can then be pretty easy calculated if R can open and display all the data provided before computer's memory is exhausted. This bid includes creating a script to read all your Excel files, analyze the data and produce nice graphs (say regression with regression line, scatter plots, bar charts etc). I have done statistical analyses before and can put in data from excel spreadsheets into statistical program. I do not have SPSS but have Stata and can put it into that stat program.
