At first look, this seems like a very simple project but there are some obstacles that most of the other freelancers did not address. The controller DOES NOT accept any UDP connection - just serial (RS232/RS485). A separate program would have to intercept UDP commands and then send to controller via a COM connection. Is this new program the main control software? From your description, it seems not to be. Only 1 program can connect to a COM port at the same time. This new program and the original control software cannot talk to the device over the same connection. I have a solution for this. Is the control software and this new program on the ame computer? If not, there needs to be a way to pass the status of the control software to the remote computer. I truly understand this project and would provide you with a fixed bid after clarification of the points above.

Recently i have designed a system to take data from Microscan QXHawk for a company. I could handle multiple TCP port at same time. I did not used OMRON SDK because for this model company discontinued the support and SDK do not support for this but i have create my own handler to take data from TCP Client ports from multiple scanners.
