Content Writing

Renaissance Learning, one of the world’s largest providers of K-12 education software, is seeking experienced, self-directed science assessment item writers for freelance content development work to create high school formative assessment content. The work requires superior item writing skills, including the ability to create assessment content according to specified criteria such as skill, format, and grade level. This position requires the application of content-area knowledge to create high school test items that assess skills up to and including Webb’s Depth of Knowledge (DOK) Level 3. ** Please note this position is paid on a piece rate. We can explain further following your submittal. ** Experience and Skills: Master’s or Bachelor's degree in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Earth Science, Astronomy, or science education. Excellent command of grammar, mechanics, usage, and spelling is required. Ability to interpret state and national high school standards is required. Contractors with experience in science educational content development for assessment or educational publishing is preferred and with teaching experience K-12 or entry-level college education is preferred. Knowledge of Webb’s Depth of Knowledge is preferred.
