Help to track a newsletter campaign with google analytics - 22/08/2016 09:23 EDT

One of my customer needs to track their newsletter campaign with Google Analytics. I know GA quite well but I have never used it to track e-mailing, therefore I would need your help to pass them the right code and to test that everything is tracked properly. This is what my customer needs: - They need to see the amount of opened e-mail - They to need to see how many people clicked on one of the link in the e-mail - They need to see the traffic coming from e-mail as separated acquisition channels called "mail", while now the traffic coming from e-mail is part of the direct traffic. This is what I need from you: - I need you to confirm first if what they need is possible - I need you to pass me the code which need to be added to the html of their e-mail campaign to make sure that the open rate is tracked as well as the click rate (and that this traffic is categorized as "mail" in the aquisition channels report). - they will send some tests e-mail and I need you to help me to verify in google analytics that all the test e-mail are tracked properly and that the e-mail data are flowing correctly into Google Analytics
