Java Developer, Reading

Duration: Permanent Salary: £30-39K per annum (depending on suitability) Location – Reading, Berkshire Instant Access Technologies Ltd is an international software Company based in Reading, Berkshire, UK. We seek to recruit a self motivated, bright individual to work for the Company as Java programmer. The successful applicant’s main responsible will be to work on developing a number of central, server side applications for our flagship product. This position will involve working as part of a small, innovative development team, predominantly focused on extending the web service API and tracking/redirection application for our Consumer-focused desktop product. This role presents the right person the opportunity to work with a group of talented individuals and be part of an entrepreneurial outfit that thrive on the challenges of launching high quality products to the consumer market. The ideal candidate will have: • 2-5 year commercial experience, with the last 2 years in a core java role • Recent employment as a hands-on core java developer - not manager/team-leader • High problem analysis and solving skills. • Extensive knowledge and experience in Object Oriented and design methodologies. • Ability to work in a very challenging & dynamic environment. • Ability to meet deadlines. • Excellent communication skills. • A pleasant personality. The technical skills required for this role are as follows: • 2 years of experience with J2SE and J2EE development platform. • Strong knowledge in all of JSP, Servlet, JDBC, SQL and XML. • Knowledge of build tools and testing frameworks (ANT, JUnit, HttpUnit). • Sound knowledge of design patterns. The following would be advantageous, but not essential: • Knowledge of Hibernate ORM Framework and Struts MVC Framework. • Experience with MySql, Tomcat and Eclipse. • Knowledge of CVS. • Java certifications (SCJP or SCJD).
