The project goal is to deliver a Java equation that converts a known Y coordinate on a Mercator projection map (Google Static Map projection) to its real world latitude. The following Java equation correctly calculates the map Y coordinate from a valid latitude L: Y = T * (0.5 - ([login to view URL]((1 + [login to view URL]((L * [login to view URL]) / 180)) / (1 - [login to view URL](L * [login to view URL]) / 180))) / (4 * [login to view URL]))); where: T is a known Java integer constant. All other variables are Java double. The project deliverable is an inversion of this equation that correctly solves for L, real world latitude, given Y and T, i.e. L = f(Y,T).
