I am new to this and I'm looking to get my first project finished to gain some experience (hence the low bid). I will produce a simple and elegant solution which I will continue to work on until you are satisfied. To solve your problem I'm thinking a simple Java/C/Python/Haskell program (whichever is best for you). The program will simply pull the location meta-data from the photo and using a Google maps api find the relevant address. Finally it will save the address to the ImageDescription tag. I will be using python 2.7. Python 2.7 should be available by default in most distribution. If your distribution does not have python, or if there is a requirement to run the script on other systems/OS, please specify. I will be using standard python library, and Google GEO location API. For bulk tasks, you may need to acquire an API from google directly if you want to mass-query many geo to address at the same time. What I will need from you: 1. Operating system information. As much as you can spare. This will help make sure I can set up the same test environment. 2. A ZIP or tarball of a few images, selected randomly from your collection.
