I have worked on shooting method before. The problem I worked on was calculating a trajectory of the spacecraft given its starting point and end point. It's incredibly complicated problem and it even took matlab a while to finish the computation. Let me know.

I have done shooting methods many times in assignments in my university. I've used both matlab and python to solve shooting method problems in PDEs and ODEs. My major is fluid mechanics, and i have done several courses in numerical methods in mathematics.
