Undelete Files on Centos Server

I could recover all the .myd .myi and .fro [ did you mean .frm? ] files (that has not been overriden yet, since your server is still running I suppose) however I can't restore the original file names and so it would be difficult to know which frm belong to whid myd and which myd belong to which myi and so on. I could write a script that tries to figure which belongs to which but that would cost extra.

Hello, I would like to try to recover your files, but I can't say with the information I have right now if the files can be recovered or not or if they will be usable (full recovery) or not. Depends on your partition type, if it is a fully dedicated server ( meaning you can boot / reboot / unmount filesystems - and even if it is so I cannot do it remotely). All I can try is to run and undelete utility and see if something useful can be recovered. My proposal for you is to give me access tonight, let me try and if something useful comes up then you award the project and pay. Otherwise I won't accept the project before I try. There is not 100% success rate on these things but we can try. Are you on a vps or a dedicated server? On dedicated servers I had around 70% success rate....and an extremely important factor is to act fast before the specific space on the disk is used by other data during as the server remains operational.

Is the database server still serving the database if so you can try copying its open file descriptors if not clone your drive/filesystem ASAP. This is very important. Every second that filesystem is left running decreases the odds of recovering your files. Boot a rescue environment and dd,ddrescue the drive/partition to an image file or different drive. Then when that is done we can try a data scraping tool. Bear in mind undeleting is a lot harder in Linux than in Windows
