I have developed similar projects for Nurse Calling and Patient Monitoring Systems where multiple gates controls, wiegand card readers, alarms, etc. These systems were using the same TCP/IP protocol and event buffering techniques. My system will composed of 3 parts: 1- Shared service platform, to communicate with the control boards to program and read buffered events (time interval for reading buffered events will be configurable with resolutions of milliseconds). This platform will provide APIs for applications like business control software to program, communicate and control the boards. The platform will be able to support more than one board to control more gates. 2- Business control software: will provide the web ui to configure and control the board through the shared service platform. All settings UIs and alarms will be available through this portal. Statistics reports will be tailored for the business control needs (10 statistical reports max) 3- Gated access communities software, just like the business control software but with different functionalities and UI for the gated access communities requirements I prefer to deliver this project in phases, note that phase 1 will have no GUI, just simple test functions since it is background service.
