301496 oscommerce Custom Work

This project is being reposted as it has been revised. The following project is ideal for a seasoned oscommerce programmer, and will lead to more complex jobs in the very near future upon successful completion of this one. Think of this as a job interview. Few of the requested customizations are simple installations of existing contributions (URLs listed below), and the rest are new ones to be created. If accepted you will be given login access to a development server to ensure compatibility with our shared hosting account for this client. An example of the customized version of oscommerce which you will be using to do this work to, can be found here: [login to view URL] Since this is a heavily customized version of oscommerce, please note you will NOT be able to easily copy and paste existing contributions to complete some of this work...as it will interfer with existing custom work we have done. Please also review the attached contractor terms of service, which shall apply to this project and future projects we may opt to have you do. Please be sure to post URL's for at least 3 oscommerce projects you have worked on over the past few years in the PMB, and describe exactly what was done for them. Anyone not posting this information on the PMB, shall be completely ignored and your bid rejected regardless of price. ------ PROJECT DETAILS: The following items are installation of existing contributions: 1. Gift Vouchers/Coupons System: [login to view URL],282 2. Purchase Order System: [login to view URL],1892/ 3. Events Calender Contribution: Using the contribution below as the basis, the changes to this shall include: - within side infobox, display title of up to the next 5 events (not expired yet). - below event titles, have links to VIEW ALL EVENTS | VIEW CALENDER (showing current month) - below that, show the default calendar. [login to view URL],1061/ --------- The following item are customizations required: 1. osCommerce Updated Manufacturer System / Shop By Brand: Additions to the existing Manufacturers database table and admin tools to now offer: manufacturer name, manufacturer keywords, manufacturer description, manufacturer logo, manufacturers category image, manufacturer URL. Meaning you will be adding these new variables into the manufacturers database table, admin page for add / edit, and in essence creating a new two new front end pages to be laid out almost identically to the existing [login to view URL] page that is normally seen when a selects a category containing products. The admin page for add / edit manufacturers should be approached in a similar fashion as the “category descriptions” contribution commonly used with oscommerce, instead of adding to the existing SIDE box which is currently used when adding / editing. When customer selects the new “shop by brand / manufacturer's” page they will be taken to a new page which displays the brand names and category logos for each brand. Upon selecting a brand via this page, or the drop down, it will then load the second new Shop by brand: Profile Page which shall show all manufacturer information and a link to view all products for this manufacturer. If no products are related to this brand at the time, it shall show a message of no products currently available for this brand. Upon clicking this button, it will then finally take them into the traditional link of: [login to view URL] Which is the same as if someone were to select a manufacturer from the side manufacturer's drop down menu. ---- 2. Shipping Checkout Page Modification: Shall ask someone during checkout the following: - would you like us to gift wrap your package? - Is this for a male or female? - What is the occasion? - What do you wish the gift card to say? Information given shall be stored in the database and shown on the Admin Orders Status Page and shown within the order confirmation email sent to both customer and store owner. --- 3. Free Local Shipping: Concept: Using the suggested existing “Free store pickup” shipping module, build a new shipping module as follows. This current contribution is ideal for this system, as it will only display this shipping method IF customer lives within same state. Your task is to create a new shipping module admin page to add locations to allow free shipping, whereby administrators select a state, city and country. Administrators can create multiple locations to offer free local shipping. During customer checkout if it recognizes the customer shipping address is located within any of the locations, it shall display option of “free local shipping: you qualify for free local shipping” NOTE: This new addition needs to also be bundled separately with general instructions and files for specifically adding this new creation into other MS2 oscommerce stores. ---- 4. Gift Ideas Addition: New section in oscommerce which shall allow the administrator to display gift ideas by category. - Admin records will allow admin user to: add/edit/delete 1 level of categories which include title, description, and optional image. - Add/edit/delete gift ideas shall allow for a title, and product to be selected. Selection of a product shall be based upon the edit orders contribution. Title is a required field, but product is not. If no product is selected for a gift idea, it shall be flagged in the admin table shown for viewing/editing gift ideas. - Main store front display page for gift ideas, shall display: gift idea categories, then gift ideas. When clicked upon a gift idea title it shall push them to the specific product page selected during creation of gift idea. Good concept may be to use the existing category / products structure and admin pages as base concept for this system, but I shall leave that up to you.
