26631 Phase 4 - ‘New Player Signup’

Create the mysql tables, web page, and php code to support the New Player Signup Test Case. This project is phase 4 of a much larger effort to port our existing play by email game Exodus War ([login to view URL]) to a php, mysql, and linux based system. Successful completion of this phase 4 task will give the developer the opportunity to work on the much larger and more involved project. (expect 5-6 more phases of this same level of complexity) Phase 4 will create the php code and mysql tables necessary to support the New Player Signup Use Case. Phase 4 introduces the new use case Actor ‘Player' – this actor represents a new User Type (so the User table will need to be updated) The user interface will continue to be very basic, based on smarty templates. All admin access to the application data will be based on roles (root, admin, and gamemaster) defined in the database itself. Note that this phase includes the creation of quite a few new mysql tables that DO NOT have UI edit screens, these tables will be used by follow-on phases (probably with python scripts) to create the actual game turns. So the tables will need to be created based on the Phase 4 UML class diagram, but you will not have to create admin edit/delete/add web interfaces to those tables (please email me if this doesn't make sense).
