I am a small-time web designer with experience using FrontPage/Expression Web, Dreamweaver, and other similar programs, and can do a little HTML coding. I use CSS.
Because of the poor economy, customer payment problems, and my time constraints, I'm looking for a way for my customers to update their own web sites so they don't have to pay me. Most of my customers have VERY little computer using abilities. But, they are capable of filling out online forms and uploading images.
My goal was to create an ASP.net or PHP app that would integrate a database into their sites, where they could log in ONLINE and add/edit their records.
The sites mostly consist of about 5 categories, with 5 to 20 "items" in each category. They don't use shopping carts. These sites just display their items with a main picture of each item, up to 20 thumbnails linkable to 20 other pictures, several paragraphs of text, and a table on each item page that usually has 4 columns and 16 rows.
I am interested in knowing if anyone could design such a situation that I could use where I could apply my designed template and the ASP or PHP or similar codes would create the pages when browsers click the links.
This would be both for new web site customers, and also for existing customers that want their site revamped to allow them to do their own updating.
Thanks!
Toni
Updated, February 13, 2009:
To clarify, I am not looking for a WYSIWYG online editor. A few of my clients are using online editors, but most of them refuse to use them because they can't do a good enough job of presenting their information with consistent fonts, colors, and placement of images.
I am specifically looking for a way to update a web site using a database and a form-based input device.
Examples of similar situations offered by web designers that I've seen include:
[login to view URL] (this is screen #1 of their series showing how sites can be updated)
[login to view URL] This is one page to add a new record.
I hope this helps. :-)
Thanks,
Toni

Thank you to all who have responded to my bid request. There have been so many responses that I have not yet been able to answer all of you. To help clarify what I am hoping for, I have created a sample web site: [login to view URL] Maybe it will give you more of an understanding of what I am hoping for. Thanks again, Toni
