This project is the first in a series of ongoing .Net/ASP coding needs for our E-commerce company. Our goal is to develop a relationship, starting with this project, that will extend to include detailed coding work and the implementation of new technologies. Ideally, you have experience with E-commerce. As part of your bid, please point us to samples of your past work. Also please tell us how long it will take to complete the job. Our current website needs to have its architecture modified so that we can use a Template driven display system. Description: Both the category and the product records need to be able to have their displays assigned on a per-record basis. For example, a top-level category may have an entirely different display than a subcategory. A product in one category of the site may use a different layout from one located within another category of the site. In order for this to happen, the display layer must be removed from the page functions and referenced by each product or category record. Backend Modifications: The add/edit products interface must be modified to show a dropdown of available layout templates. The add/edit categories interface must also be modified in the same fashion. Setting this value will determine what the page will look like when requested by a user. Front-End Modification: Folders should be created to contain both the product and category templates. The contents of these folders will dictate the values listed in the dropdowns for the backend products and categories interfaces.
