Are you a regexp and Perl Guru ?
OK, so I don't quite need a guru but I do need someone who knows their way around Perl, is aware of how CPAN works and smiles when they see a regexp!
The WWW::Search module is available at CPAN - <[login to view URL]~mthurn/WWW-Search-2.471/lib/WWW/[login to view URL]> and is a base class for searches on the web.
There are MANY sub classes that utilise this to search on Google, Yahoo, Lycos etc as well as some that are a tad unusual in their use. Damn clever stuff really :)
There is also a perl module called WWW::Wikipedia at <[login to view URL]~esummers/WWW-Wikipedia-0.6/lib/WWW/[login to view URL]> that works in a similar manner to WWW::Search but isn't based upon it.
Unfortunately WWW::Wikipedia is broken at the moment as the HTML has changed. Let's be honest here, we know scrapers are damn brittle at the best of times!
I require the following to be undertaken please.
Extend WWW::Search for use with the following search engines:
I will accept bids per module extension required or as a whole.
NB - GOOD ONGOING COMMUNICATION IS ESSENTIAL.
I will tolerate a certain level of mistakes but I need to know about them and have constant communication on the project, timescales and cost. I am an amazingly nice guy and will help work through problems with you if I can but can not and will not tolerate being left in the dark.
Please ensure you say a timescale for completing this project and if you have any questions then ask them here. Nonsense bids will be ignored and to make sure you are a human and not some bot auto posting then I would like you to recite the 2nd line of your favourite nursery rhyme in the bid response. I know it'll look silly but you and I are the only people who can see it (unless the RAC staff pop in to take a peek and lighten their hectic work schedule to see what the latest and best nursery rhyme people can think of is) but humour me.
It puts a smile on my face and makes sure you've read this document to the end.
No nursery rhyme no work !
Any questions please ask away and I lok forward to working with you.
Jason
