This is a piece of cake for an Outlook developer. In a nutshell, here is what I want done as an Excel macro or add-on DLL: Check if destination cell in Column E already has any data in it, if so, skip to the next row. Take a pre-formatted phone number from column A, and lookup that phone number in all contacts lists available in the default Outlook profile. (continued below in deliverables) Selection criteria: 1. You are a Microsoft Office platform developer with specific expertise integrating Excel and Outlook. 2. Please summarize my bid request to me in your bid in your own words from a developer's perspective. I need to know that you are familiar wtiht eh Microsoft Office Object model. 3. Form letters not relevant to this subject are useless to me. It's a specific project with a highly specific purpose and a clear algorithm. ## Deliverables **Upon finding a match**, generate a new cell on the same row in column E as "Company Name - Full Name - Phone Number" wherein the Company Name and Full Name are populated from the matching record. If Exception occurs, leave the field as blank. Automatically move on to the next row. **Exception handling** **If no match is found**, popup a New Contact window from Outlook. You can either leave the cell blank, so I will simply re-run the macro to pick up the new data, or fill it with the new data. It makes no difference to me either way. If multiple matches are found and the company name is the same, use Company Name as the Company Name, and enter Authorized Contact as the Full Name. Can I figure it out myself? Yes, but I really don't feel like it. :-) When bidding, please specify your Microsoft Office development experience. You will have 3 days to complete the project. I've simplified the algorithm as much as possible to make it a quick project for someone. **You will be querying against multiple contacts databases against all phone fields**. Those databases will include: Outlook Personal Folders, Exchange Public Folders, Exchange Contact Folders, Business Contacts Manager for Outlook, and whatever other types. The Advanced Find dialog works for me manually, but I have to switch databases for each data store, such as BCM contacts and normal Outlook Contacts. I also have to convert phone numbers, which is a pain. Figure out how to iterate through all of those datastores using Advanced Find dialog programmatically, and you'll probably have the problem solved. Efficiency of code is not a big concern so you can use any technique to iterate through my data. I am only processing a few hundred lines. You can write this feature for me either in VBA or as .NET application that accepts input as a CSV or XLS. In case of a standalone application, I'll want to have the option for it to generate log files of operations. Completion criteria 1. The code searches data across all of my linked Contacts data stores in the default Outlook profile. This must include BCM datastore and possibly others. 2. The code generates cells in my specified format of "Company Name - Full Name - Phone Number" in the specified cell of a specified row. 3. All comments are in English and the source code is not obfuscated. 4. Code runs on Office 2007 platform. 5. Exceptions are handled as I described above. 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Microsoft Office 2007, .NET or VBA. Microsoft Office 2003 is also acceptable.
