## Deliverables
So you've downloaded the Windows Phone 7 development kitfrom? <[login to view URL]>? andyou're busy working on a "hello world" application? Stop! Port a realapplication from WM6.5 to WP7 and get paid for it!
We have an existing app which is all written, tested, and isselling on the Windows Mobile 6 marketplace. The app is at:
It's the classic "remember where I parked the car" [login to view URL] runs on WM6 and WM6.5. It's written in C# (mostly .NET 2.0 but a couple [login to view URL] 3.5 calls). We're going to release it for WP7 but we need some help withthe initial port. I know that WP7 is based around Silverlight and XNA - thebidder on this project should have a good idea of which WP7 technologies toport this app to, and a working understanding of WM6 development.
The deliverable here will be a feature-complete working WP7version of the application with a start menu entry (I have the icon already),which plays nicely with the WP7 operating system. It needs to be fullyoperational but we don't need the UI to be perfectly aligned or have any newWP7 features added to it. However, if the developer is interested in doingfurther work to polish the WP7 implementation then we'll definitely be willingto consider extending the project to encompass that. We will, of course, sharethe entire WM6 source code prior to starting work.
My guess is that a lot of this will port to Silverlight or XNAeasily - the major APIs it uses are:
* GPS (right now it uses the GPS Intermediate Driver)
* File I/O (right now it saves your current location in an XML file)
* Graphics (it draws a compass on the screen)
* Outlook reminders (it can show a reminder when your paid-for parking is going to expire)
* Internet connection (it uses a simple http call to increment and return a count of total cars parked to date)
We're quite flexible on time - we don't need this delivered for acouple of months, so this would be an ideal project for someone thinking ofexperimenting with WP7 in their spare time. Here's your chance! Try out the newSDK in your own timescale, and get paid!
