THIS PROJECT HAS BEEN REPOSTED WITH ADDITIONAL DETAILS
This should be an easy project for any coder well versed in URL rewriting with htaccess although knowledge of Wordpress will also likely be required based on discussions I’ve had with a few coders.
Project Info: I have a test site setup and the project will be completed on this test site, which is setup as an ecommerce site. Although I am using the WP platform, it is being used as the CMS for my eCommerce sites and not as a blogging platform. I have a custom php page that dynamically creates the pages that I will link to through my Sidebar Navigation and from other pages.
Specific Requirements: I will be creating Sidebar Navigation links in addition to links on a Sitemap page and other pages. The links I will be creating will look like this, which is also how they will be indexed by the search engines:
www.mysite.com/blue+nike+[login to view URL]
In order for my pages to dynamically generate correctly, they will need to be rewritten and load in the browser as shown below:
My WP permalinks are setup so that any static Wordpress pages will not have the .html file type so I’m thinking the Rewrite rule should be setup to detect any URLs with an .html file type and then remove the .html and add ?s= to the beginning of the URL after the root part of my domain and then load the rewritten URL in the browser.
What I will provide to you to complete this job: A copy of the htaccess file to modify for this test installation and the site address of the test installation for your review.
What I prefer NOT to provide: Access to the wordpress install, database, passwords, etc, This should not be needed to complete this job, but if it is determined to be absolutely necessary to complete the project, the info may be provided.
I will need you to provide me the htaccess file that I will upload to my test server to ensure the URLs are rewriting properly. VERY IMPORTANT: The htaccess code used to modify the URL rewriting must not affect or prevent the pages from dynamically generating.
This should be a quick and easy task for someone who knows htaccess coding and $30 is the max I'm willing to pay if the job can be completed soley by writing a couple of lines of code for the htaccess file. If modification should be additionally required to any of the Wordpress files, I understand the bid may be slightly higher. Whatever methods are used to complete this project should be something I can easily replicate on other similar sites with the same dynamic page setup.
