We require standalone software that we can download and run on our computer. It needs to be able to import a batch of barcode numbers from a csv, and then search on several amazon & ebay sites. It will then show whether there are any products listed on any of the sites matching the barcode numbers. (These sites can be searched by barcode number - we only need a simple yes/no to indicate whether any products are listed with that barcode number). It would be good if we could add or delete the sites that get searched (eg [login to view URL], [login to view URL], [login to view URL] etc) at the first step in the process. It would also be good to be able to choose a random delay (maximum) so that Amazon/Ebay doesn't block the searches. It would also be good to be able to view progress while it is searching, and for the result to be saved as a spreadsheet.

Hi, We have worked on many Scraping and Extraction projects from varied data sources and websites to extract and retrieve specific attributes using both API as well as scraping methods and would be interested in your project. We have worked on scraping, crawling, extraction, aggregation and scheduled synchronization for data consistency from various unstructured data, websites and have assembled it and semantically mapped the extracted attributes in useful way in Excel, CSV formats storing them into databases schema and synchronizing any updates to the website with the schema. We have worked using primarily PHP and Perl and a bit of Scrapy framework. You may also check our references and reviews for Scraping/Parsing project we did recently on our portfolio page. Please find below our short experience summary. * Extensive Experience with Scraping, Extraction and API from Amazon, Google and eBay. * Extensive experience using Perl, PHP, Python, C, Java, .NET with MySql, Oracle, MS-SQL Server * Information Extraction Tools : Weka, R, Excel, Scrapy. Estimated Budget : ~ 2900 USD ( Timeline : 10-15 days ) Price, milestones and timelines flexible and negotiable based on exact project specifications and details or for any additional project work. Was wondering whether you would be interested in sharing more information regarding your project.

Hello, I actually just completed a similar app for another client and I am very familiar with the Amazon and eBay APIs. I have a few comments that you might want to consider. 1.) Unfortunately, barcodes (UPC/EAN) are not unique and may represent a wide variety of products. Each line will have to have to be filtered by description of the item listed along with the returned Yes/No identifier. 2) You mentioned having the user input the random delay between searches to prevent blocking. Amazon limits access to its API to 2,000 requests per hour, which equates to one every half second. This is pretty rigid and does not need to be random. The hard part is that eBay's policy is more strict. They limit access to 5,00 requests per day, unless the application is published and tested by them to see if it meets " it complies with the requirements for the Compatible Application Check". I have not tested it, but I will try to group multiple requests together into one request, hopefully bypassing this limit. We could also setup multiple API accounts for each variety of eBay.
