Hello there, My name is Bogdan Stoica and I am working as a Linux Senior Server Administrator at one of the biggest web hosting companies from my country Romania. We have over 50 dedicated servers and couple hundreds of virtual machines. We are using cPanel/WHM for all our shared web hosting servers and reseller accounts. Operating system is CentOS 5,6,7. As a virtualization technology we are using vmware, ESXi 4 and 5, vCenter, vSphere client etc. We also use Proxmox (with ovz and lxc + kvm), SolusVM with openvz and sometimes even docker. My job is to keep all those servers and virtual machines functional. We are using haproxy + nginx + apache as a reverse proxy server and web server, MySQL and MariaDB (sometimes PostgreSQL) for database servers, exim + MailScanner + SpamAssassin. I have over 10 years experience with any linux distribution and at 7+ years with cPanel/WHM. I also have good experience with HTML/CSS, medium experience with scripting (mostly bash) but also a little perl, basic knowledge with PHP+SQL (web programming) and good experience with malware removal tools, server security, accounts and data migration. Hi, i see that you have a compromised wordpress box. Well don't worry, wordpress is an opensource software and it happens frequently due to some small misconfiguration or due to issues of wordpress versions of it self. The plugins cause, the host cause, the server cause it or the core wordpress might the culprit too. I'm working as a web pen tester and my job for the last 5 years has been this, i do this on a daily basis, please check my reviews. Most of my work is simply cleaning infected hosts. I will first go through the wordpress installation and make a detailed report on which plugins are affected, which files are affected and what could have been the possible vulnerability to get the site compromised. Then we can move to the server / host, if the host is vulnerable, we better move to a secure host. a server can be configured in many ways to mitigate an attack in the first palce. Once we find whats wrong with both the server and wordpress. we move on to cleaning, once i'm doing that i will make sure i educate you on the best practices to keep your site clean and mitigate any future attacks.
