Here are the things needed for the Fantasy Prediction Contest:
Each user must have a login id and a password (better if one can login using FB).
Each user will have to create a profile with Name, Age, Gender, email id, Favorite team.
After logging in, each one should have the chance to create his/her own league and invite/add friends to that league. Each league can be public/private, can have its own password (set by the admin of the league). Alternatively (without the password), the admin must have the discretion to allow/deny a user to be included in the league.
Joining any league should be possible any time during the Major Competition.
Additionally, each user should automatically be added to one or more global leagues set by us.
Now, for each match, each user will answer a set of questions (5 to 8, at most).
Based on their answers, they will be scoring points. These set of questions will be set by us. So, they can be of multiple choice type (will be more convenient, I guess) and points will be counted accordingly.
No user will be able to see other users' answers.
Predictions for a match should be locked 35 minutes before the scheduled start and it should be done automatically.
After each match, we will update actual answers and the points for each user should be updated accordingly. The list of the players should be sorted according to the points right away.
Additional things that would make it a much better experience:
If admins of each league can choose their own set of 5 to 8 questions (from a much bigger set of questions provided by us).
If for each question, we can show additional info/pictures/videos [example: for the question "Who will win the toss?" we can show the toss-statistics for the two captains]
If each user gets an automated notification one hour before the start of the match.
If there is an opportunity to obtain funny and interesting badges based on the results [example: suppose we have set a badge 'Mr Perfect' for users who get all predictions correct for a particular match. Now, if someone actually does that, when he/she logs in the next time, the picture of the badge will pop in (remember, only once)]. If this is possible, for each user, there should be a badge-room too to display all the badges obtained by the user.
