Simple PHP long process. Client side need real time information of duration process.

We have an actual web app developed in PHP / HTML5-JQuery. The main task to achieve is simply to describe: get from client side the duration of a long process that is running in the server and show it to the client. The process duration is stored in a txt file in server in real time ([login to view URL]). We need from you: - Develop an effective communication (using sockets maybe is the best choice) to get the pooling value. As we assume, I hope we're not wrong, server php respond each call from each client in serial, so you can't get the duration either by doing an ajax call because server identifies your connection as the same session and it's not possible to read it before the long process is finished. We provide: - A very simple code of client and server (Jquery/HTML client side and simple PHP script in server). We just need to get back the code with the information of the long process working. I hope some developer have this kind of situation resolved and give us a simply working example.
