I'm need a query to update a table based on another table. I have two tables – SwitchPorts & SlaveSwitchPorts. When the SwitchPorts .ClientID changes the associated ‘salve’ SwitchPorts (listed in the SlaveSwitchPorts table) are updated with the new ClientID also. (Note that the SlaveSwitchPorts is a static table it is only referenced by the query and not updated) For example see the screen captures. When the query is executed the ClientID for three records in the SwitchPorts table are updated to 88 (as are listed as they are slave ports) in the SlaveSwitchPorts table. Also, the query is to be setup to execute as a trigger when an update is made to a SwitchPorts .ClientID field. You can provide a Proof of Concept database/query

Hi I am a database expert with 12 years experience in handling MS SQL and MySQL databases. I have worked as DBA for large ERP databases and use to write and do performance tuning for SQL queries, procedures and triggers. I have worked with several ERP databases to write queries and procedures to create custom reports. You have given the pictures of the table before and after the query is executed. Can you please also suggest what is the actual query that was executed? I am trying to understand why the client id is updated to 88 only in a few rows, and where the client id is picked from.
