I need something that can optimise/maximise the points scored of a data-set of players under certain constraints. I imagine this could be completed using java, R etc. For example, from the datasheet attached, I'd like to know the selection of players (team) that result in the maximum amount of points under the constraints: - Maximum salary = 50000 - Maximum number of players from one team = 6 - Must have 1 goalkeeper, 2 defenders, 2 midfielders, 2 forwards and 1 utility (could be another defender, midfielder or forward). This is more complex given that some players can fill both the midfield or forward positions (see data sheet) I'd also like to be able to easily edit these constraints for different datasheets. For example, I may want to change the salary to 100, max number of players from each team to 4, and have it select 1 G, 3D, 3M, 1F and 3 utility. An option to select how many teams it produces is necessary too. For example, I may want it to produce the the top 10 optimal teams The end result will be some sort of smooth interface where I can easily load an excel file such as the attached file, adjust the constraints how I want them and have the software return the optimal selections in the format of the output file attached

I can do this project in either C# or html&javascript. html would have the advantage of being cross platform and would give you the ability to publish in the future.

Hey, I reviewed the two spreadsheets you shared and also the requirements description. This is basically a constrained combination generation problem that can be modeled as a LPP. I can create a setup in excel that will allow you to easily import the files, define the constraints and then generate the combinations on click of a button.
