Post a XML String to Server

I have an XML string which needs to be posted to a server, as well I have a XML string which requests some data from the server. I want the both to be executed using python. It can be requests or httplib. The thing is we have no idea about the server expect the url. This is from clinet site. No idea what code is written on server side. I also want an extension to this project where the program takes the data from sql and posts it to server.
