Hello everyone, my name is Karl Beetson, I am 24 and have type 1 diabetes. I have had type 1 for 7 years now and it sucks. I have had some adventures [login to view URL] but I am really keen to try and stay healthy for as long as possible and avoid complications search as kidney, nerve, eye damage as well as amputation risk. I am fortunate enough to wear a sensor which measures glucose in my interstitial fluids which is then fed by wireless over 2.4ghz to the receiver & visual display. I use the DEXCOM G4 sensor and transmitter which talks to a receiver built into my insulin pump. NOTE THE PUMP ITSELF DOES NOT HAVE ANY WIRELESS CAPABILITY AND I AM NOT SEEKING TO HACK/MESS ABOUT WITH INSULIN PUMP CONTROL. JUST WISHING TO CREATE RECEIVING DEVICES WHICH ALSO RECEIVE THE GLUCOSE DATA TRANSMITTED. What I have been able to do currently- I have found data on the transmitters spec/wireless characteristics (see files attached) I have dismantled an old transmitter to uncover what MCU the transmitter uses- I have identified this as a Texas Instruments CC2511 system on chip. I have sourced and purchased a CC Debugger and CC2511 USB Evaluation Module, and installed the free software found on Texas Instrutments site I have installed the TI's own packet sniffing firmware to use their packet sniffing software What I want to achieve with your help/the project- Guidance in setting up the Packet sniffing software based on the attached Tx data so I can start logging data transmitted into a log with the info shown on the receivers screen WHY- I want to be able to create additional devices which 'listen in' on the blood glucose data transmissions so I can create hardware that will for example - play a loud sound to wake me up at night (I sleep through/can't hear or feel the not so loud or powerful vibration alerts of the receiver) or have a piece of hardware which drives a RGB lit clock in our family room and thus can subtlety alert my family if I need help/If I am ok...I have lots of ideas. But I need some help to break through this tricky barrier. I am listing it as a micro project at this stage as there is no hardware design/major software writing required and I'd hope some members (maybe also with diabetes or a family connection to it) would be willing to help me on this project phase for gratis. Many thanks Karl

Hi , I am a professional freelancer based out of Hyderabad ,India . I think you can receive the data that is being transmitted using another RF transceiver . Its transmitter frequencies are given , They can be used . Also the data is sent once in 5 min . If you are able to capture the data i can try to break the encryption 128 bit AES . Also you would need a spectrum sensor to check the data being sent . It is modulated . With regards, N L Ramachandrachudamani

Hi Karl, I really sympathise with you as my dad and granddad both got Type 2, and I might too in a few years time. This is not really a bid, just a way to get a message to you (or have I missed some obvious direct messaging option on this site?). Clearly you've a smart cookie, with your degrees etc., and you've already invested a lot of thought in this project. You say you're now at the stage of configuring the packet sniffer, so ideally you want someone with experience with the software you're using (RFsmart packet sniffer ?). I don't have that, but I do have experience using other protocol analysers for telecoms (voice call signalling and SMS/text protocols). You may have heard of 'wireshark' too for sniffing Internet messages. So if you're at a bit of a dead-end with setting up the packet sniffer, and don't get anyone more qualified to bid, I might be able to give some pointers. Capturing some data from the CC Debugger is the current hurdle. But the next bit will be tricky, which is to interpret the 224 bit of data in each transmission (every 5 mins), and get the BG level from that. Reverse engineering!!! Ok, hope you get some more interest soon, cheers, Julian
